It will be a super Sunday worthy of central billing on Sky Sports in Pearse Stadium this Sunday as two giants of Galway football clash for the first time in a Senior county final, an amazing stat when you consider they have both been the dominant force in the county football scene the last 10 years.
Both sides overcame difficult semi's with Killererin needing a replay to see past Mountbellow/Moylough and Corofin edging past Barna. Killererin have no injury concerns and will hope they can rejoyce in cousins Nicky and Padraig Joyce to steer them to the title.
John Mulholland punters could indeed "Rejoyce" if Nicky finds the net last as they'll refund all losing bets on selected markets.
Corofin have an injury concern in Tony Goggins, who has a hamstring injury ruling him doubtful. Their biggest obstacle may be one that sank Kilkenny in the hurling this season, history, they bid for an unprecended 3 in a row. If they are mentally prepared for that and can snuff out ball to the Joyce's, there can only be one winner
Verdict: Corofin to win half time-full time 6/4
The Intermediate match is very one sided according to John Mulholland's as St James meet Spiddal en route to getting into the senior fray next season. They lost last season to Leitir Mór in a game, they expected to win so it's unlucky they will get complacent this season. An Spideal were playing junior football last year so it must be a bridge too far in my opinion to win on Sunday
Again Mulholland's have a delightful special for this match and very apt with the Chilean miner's fantastic rescue on Wednesday:
"Let Rabbite get you out of a hole"
If Seamie Rabbitte scores the last goal, John Mulholland will refund all losing bets on selected markets
Finally do note the Loughrea v Portumna replay is fixed for Saturday after a rough game last weekend. Not much hurling was played last week by either side as it turned into an eyesore. This week they renew rivalry and it could really go either way. Portumana may only win by 1 or 2 points or they could completely blow them away. One thing is for sure, Loughrea won't win
