Would it be Canny to Tipp Galway?

Galway V Tipperary
This would have been a fantastic Semi final and both teams are the 2nd and 3rd best team in the country right now but we will lose one before August even begins. The betting suggests that the Canning's can enjoy next weeks races with plenty of pints in hands as their summer comes to an abrupt end. They have not caught fire at all since a few dazzling performances in the league seem like distant memories. Their scrappy draw and subsequent win over Offaly followed by a lacklustre Leinster final.

Tipperary were expected to stroll to a Munster title but were shocked by Cork, who didn't exactly frank the form. I can just see Galway opening up Tipperary with more goals here and in a tight finish Galway have shown the mettle to win while Tipp have lost the close ones. With the prices shaped like this and one bookie in particular going for Galway at 2/1, Galway are worth the bet

Verdict: Galway To Win

In the four Football Championship Qualifiers, Down look the best bet to win in Breffni Park. I couldn't believe Sligo fell to Roscommon after beating Mayo and Galway but it may spell frankly that Connacht football is at a low ebb and the form is not up to much. Down have played plenty of close ones and they wouldn't throw away a lead like Galway did that day in Sligo and I'd take them to prevail here.

The Kildare v Monaghan game is a hard one to read with Monaghan having a second half no show against Tyrone. It would be easy to write their season off now and Kildare are starting to play a
great brand of Gaelic but again the bookies look to have written off Monmaghan too early. At the current odds, its worth backing a Monaghan team that are the same price this week as last week except the opposition is nowhere near as menacing. Their score rate before the Ulster final was high and if they can pick themselves off the floor, they can win this one by more than 4 points.

Verdict
Down to win
Monaghan to win and to win alternative handicap -3 at 7/2
