Wimbledon 2010

If you hate sports, you will need to stay away from the BBC for the next 3 weeks. On top of their world cup coverage, they now will be beaming out 10 hours of tennis each day. With the weather forcast looking gorgeous, rain delays should be minimal.

Federer and Serena Williams are 6/1 to both retain their titles. Federer didn't have to contend with Nadal last season but while Nadal was awesome in 2008 and looked flawless in the French Open, he lost on grass early at Queens.

Roger Federer also lost at Halle Green for the first time since 2003, so it could pay to look beyond the obviuous this season.

So if we are looking for value, where could the winner come from? Murray has looked frankly useless recently. His form does not look good enough to win here. He was soundly beaten at the French Open and looked no better at Queens. Truth is grass is not his best surface, he is more suited to the hard courts in the US Open and that tournament has always looked to me the tournament he will break his duck in. One great thing for him is that the English media will be obsessed with the English world cup campaign, well until Wednesday at least.

Of the others, I like Roddick, he pushed Federer all the way and this is the tournament he wants and suits the best. Hewitt will take heart from beating Federer at Halle Green and will prove dangerous to all the seeded players. Djokovic is unreliable and prone to injury and no big priced player looks good enough to make a run all the way to the final

Verdict: Back RODDICK
