SATURDAY 7:00 TG4
Well the Michael Buble fans tell me the stadium is looking top notch and Michael wasn’t so bad himself so it should be ready for what it was built for: Top Class Rugby. This is the first big game in the Aviva; I don’t really count Ireland V Andorra as an event or even a friendly against Argentina. It may only looked down by some as only a Magners League game but don’t be fooled.
This is the first big match of the season and will set down a market for the Irish teams in the Magners, Heineken Cup and Six Nations for the season. Leinster has started appallingly and they made Edinburgh look like the All Blacks last week. They have missed Sexton badly and if he doesn’t start, they will struggle to get anything going.
Munster has won 4 from 4 and I was very impressed with the way the ground out that win away at Glasgow last week. Keith Earls is still not fit and David Wallace has been dropped. Wallace is not the player he was and in Johne Murphy, they have a real lively attacking option to fit in for Earls. Last season, Leinster won both encounters as well as the playoff win. That must play on the red brigade as they haven’t beaten Leinster since before the beating Leinster gave them in the Heineken cup semi final in Croke Park
It’s high time they stopped the losing run.
Verdict: Munster To Win
